Over the past 16 years Tambores Bombayá has researched, promoted and spread the Afro-Venezuelan music all over the country. Since July 5th of 2000 with a very talented group of musicians has incorporated in the musicality of African rhythms, Latin American and Caribbean expressions.
Jeickov Vital, founder and CEO of the group, it was proposed to convey not only the universality of the percussive music, but also disclose them as a fundamental part of the knowledge and daily valuation of the cultural manifestations of Venezuela, through a repertoire which highlights the wealth of musical diversity and performed by musicians of great quality training.
In 2016 Tambores Bombayá crossed borders. Music, product research and study of the original sources have resulted in international invitations to Mexico, Cuba, Brazil, Colombia, and more recently in the United States.
In the short lifespan of the organization, values such as responsibility, enthusiasm and creativity of its members have been key to generate artistic alliances inside and outside Venezuela. The hard work has been reflected in several presentations in which the band has shared the stage with well-known musicians like Oscar de Leon, Grupo Madera, Orquesta Adolescentes, Orquesta La Billos Caracas Boys, the famed orchestra director Gustavo Dudamel with the Simon Bolivar Orchestra and the Congress of Salsa in Houston, Texas.
Tambores Bombayá is one of the most representative groups of Venezuela, not only for its approach to the Venezuelan African culture but also by the quality that runs through the combination of young talent and the experience of musicians who make part of the group, adding value and sense of commitment as values of presentation and working in each of the shows it performed.
